Nokia launches 6-inch 'phablet' Lumia 1520


New Delhi: Nokia today launched the Lumia 1520 phablet in India at a price of Rs 46,999.

The device was launched in India a short while ago at an event in Delhi. Apart from the phone, the company also launched a case for the Lumia 1520 (The CP623) for a price of Rs 2,999.

The front cover of the case is flexible. The smartphone will hit the stores from today. The Lumia 1520 is now the new flagship smartphone for company.

According to Nokia's India Managing Director P Balaji, Lumia smartphone have done exceptionally well post Diwali in India. "The 6-inch Lumia 1520 will expand our portfolio significantly," he said in a press release.
        



The Lumia 1520 is the first phablet from Nokia and has a 6-inch screen with a full HD (1920x1080 pixels) resolution . It also comes with a 20 megapixel rear camera with Nokia's PureView technology with Dual LED flash.

It also has a 1.2 MP camera on the front panel for video calls. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2 Ghz and 2 GB of RAM.

It comes with 32 GB memory space, a microSD card slot with an upper limit of 64 GB. It has a 3400 mAh battery. Nokia is promising 27.4 hours of maximum talk time on 2G and 25.1 hours of talktime on 3G.

It also has 4 microphones for ensuring best audio when you’re recording videos. Nokia is also offering 7 GB free Sky Drive cloud storage space free with the phone.

It is also giving users a lifetime license for Microsoft Office suite. The company was also expected to launch the Nokia Lumia 1320 at the event, but did not do so.

According to Vipul Mehrotra, the Director for Smartphone Devices at Nokia India, Middle East and Africa, the Lumia 1320 would be launched in India soon. The Lumia 1320 is also a six-inch screen device with an HD screen at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone has 5 megapixel with LED flash. It has 0.3 mp VGA camera on the front. The smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor which is clocked at 1.7 GHz.
